I woke up the day after the election heartbroken, yet determined. Within days, I had plane tickets to attend the Women’s March in Washington DC and something unforgettable to look forward to.
But after that, I and many others were asking “What’s next?” What more can I do? I came home and decided to start the Small Business Action Network.
I was 9 years into running a successful catering company where my personal values were the foundation of the business. I thought a lot about what I did and more specifically how I did it, everything from sustainable food choices to how I treated my employees. This alignment felt incredibly good, but the career as a professional chef didn’t hold enough meaning for me anymore.
I realized that my passion for running my business based on my values was what I really loved most about being a business person (other than the catering itself), and I decided to help other progressive small business owners figure out how do that too.
So, I closed the catering business, and now I am completely dedicated to helping you bring your values to life in your small business, and I love it!
So if you are a small business owner who is asking, “How can I contribute to the world in a positive way through my business?” or “How do I align my business with my values?” then you’ve come to the right place.
